Bevrages can be bottled water or bottled fruit juice. Buying local food and fruit can be a real treat. A towel can serve as a place to sit. Enjoying time in a beautiful park while you people watch can be fun and educational. If you are in a foreign country you will be able to see the people enjoying life and possibly meet new people.
